Wrong! No, the answer is not "children are our future", though I do believe that. The answer I'm looking for is that "the Giants can win the World Series this year". Okay, I lied; I don't believe it. But I'm optimistic in my self-deceptions. So, to answer a fan's (yay, I have three!) question, I haven't been blogging in the last few days because one of my friends told me I wrote too much for her to catch up. And so, I have been waiting for March to come to write a new blog.
Novio pitched today, and he was awesome. <3. Of course, it would have been nice to see (or even hear) the game, rather than constantly refreshing the slowly updated scoreboard online. Stupid Spring Training games that aren't broadcasted on TV. So what, just because there's no more HR king the Giants don't deserve some spotlight? Ugh. At least Jonathan Sanchez won his game. That makes the Giants 1-2 in the Cactus league. Novio deserved the win, too, though. I'm so disappointed. Stupid non-roster invitees. Okay, I will stop with the baseball, which seems to discourage most of my audience.
Work is coming along slowly. Super slowly. Like a person in a coma waking up slowly. Or Catherine running a mile slowly. Take which ever metaphor you prefer. (Well, simile, but you get my drift.)
So, on Thursday, I had a midterm review session for MCB 61 (Molecular and Cell Bio- Mind, Brain, and Behavior) in 100 GPB. I, a non-science major, thought that GPB stood for Goldman School of Public Policy Building. Okay, yes, I did think it odd that an undergrad science review be held in a public policy grad building. But to my credit, when I looked on the campus map, I couldn't for the life of me find any other building whose name could be abbreviated in such a way, so I accepted it, didn't question, and moved on.
The review started at 7 on the North side of campus, from what I thought. I, like almost 90% of students here, live on the South side of campus, so when I left my dorm at 6:50 PM, I knew I was bound to be late. On my way, I stopped at the bus stop to see what time it would come- just in case it was coming in five minutes or so. That way, I could get there by bus (which would probably be faster than me walking forever uphill). Unfortunately, the stupid bus line that goes up to North side doesn't stop at the bus stop I went to, which I didn't find out until I took 3 minutes out of my way to get there. 6:53 PM. Oh, by this point, I should tell you that Alexia and I went to get dinner (to-go) from the DC around 6:25ish PM, so I had to leave my warm dinner back home in my room. Bitches. So, famished, tired, lonely (because I was left out of the lifeboat, if you remember), and bus-less, I marched forward. When I finally got to the Public Policy Building, my first thoughts were along the lines of WTF and You've-got-to-be-shitting-me. Seriously, the building is like a joke. Well, a really nice joke. It's more like a really nice frat house than a SCHOOL BUILDING. Anyhow, the side door I went to was locked, so I tried another door. Locked. So I walked around the building, thinking to myself, WTF. First, the professor gets the stupidest place for a science review session everrrr, then he doesn't unlock the doors for late arrivals. Then I thought to myself, FUCK NO. What if this isn't even the right place? So I called Alice, and sure enough, it was the wrong building. Apparently, the GPB stands for Genetic and Plant Biology. So, half an hour and 4569856546 acres of mountainous terrain separated me from my MCB review session. I know, I know, you're probably thinking to yourself, "Why, oh why must you be so cruel to such a lovely young woman, God? WHY, God, WHYYYY?". I, myself, was thinking similar thoughts. However, I ventured on, understanding that, unlike the common Stanfurd student who gets a free ride because she/he/it goes to a private school, I freaking PAY for my education, and I'm taking whatever help (e.g. review session) to get a freaking 4.0. I know, hard core. I know.
By the time I got to the review session, it was packed, so I had to sit in the back. On the ground. Gross, right? Not even the least of it. I couldn't see my professor, and what was worse was that I couldn't even hear the questions people were asking. Like, hellooo, they invented something for medium-to-large lecture halls called, oh, I don't know, a microphone maybe? Anyhow, I couldn't really pay attention for a few reasons besides the sound:
1) a guy who came in afterwards and sat next to me smelled strongly of cigarette smoke (and I was oddly attracted to the smell after a while, stupid addicting nicotine),
2) three guys sitting apart from one another (and I kid you not) were shaking their legs in a synchronized fashion (seriously, they all went up-down-up together like they were trained side by side in the military or something), and
3) one guy had on flip-flops, and had one leg crossed over the other, and his foot caught my attention because the skin looked very soft and moisturized.
(Now, I don't know if I should be disturbed by the fact that a guy's foot looked soft, or if I should be disturbed because I noticed it. Either way, I'm frightfully disturbed.)
Oh, and I spent a good two hours doing personality quizzes. There's this forest one that's reallyyy interesting. I'll write some more about it later so you can find out about your personality. I know, how thoughtful of me. I know.
Wowzers. Long post over nothing important. I'll post more later; getting sleepy.

Say what? No, seriously, say something.
